God calls us to action.
It’s a simple concept, but one that is so often misunderstood.
Action is a result of our salvation. One of the fruits so to speak. It is spurred by love and driven by hope. It rests not and is never satisfied. Action that pushes us forward, pushes on onward. Action that changes us and the world around us. Action based on belief.
There is something so amazing about belief—true, unfettered, unadulterated belief in Christ. When we truly accept Christ and invite Him to take over our lives, we begin anew. We start life again as if a small child, eager to find and know and explore. We reach out for more, hungry for the Word of God and hungry for the truth. It wraps us up and lifts us, wholly and completely, as we push forward.
As we grow in our faith and our relationship with God, we continue to move. We pray. We sing. We find new ways to express our faith, and our reaching increases. There may be times where our action slows, but it never stops.
And while I have no way to explain this action, I know it’s there and I know it’s real. God lives in us. Not in a temple or in a shrine. He lives in us, and from that we are moved to action.
Are you driven to action?
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things. (Acts 17: 24-25 KJV)
